The player bar
The player bar runs along the bottom of the app. You see it in Free Practice, the Library, Danceparty and the other areas where music plays. It is not there in Practice and Powerpractice, where the controls sit below the time ring, see Practice and Powerpractice.

Left: the running song
Section titled “Left: the running song”This shows the title, the dance, the tempo in MPM and the source of the song. In the picture a Slow Waltz with 29 MPM from a folder is playing. The source appears as, for example, Folders or Playlists.
Middle: controls
Section titled “Middle: controls”- Previous and Next jump to the previous and the next song.
- Play / Pause starts and stops playback.
- Thumbs up and thumbs down rate the song. This belongs to the Club package, see Curation.
- Below the controls, the progress bar shows the elapsed time on the left and the remaining time on the right.
Right: volume and tempo
Section titled “Right: volume and tempo”On the right you set how loud and how fast the song runs.
- Volume: The speaker icon mutes and unmutes; unmuting returns to the last level. The slider next to it sets the overall level of music and announcements: all the way to the left is silent, all the way to the right is full volume. There is no boost above full volume. The setting is saved and is available in every package.
- Target MPM (from Pro): With minus and plus you set the tempo you want in measures per minute, 29 in the picture. The app converts the speed itself.
- WDSF: The button below sets the competition tempo of the dance, 29 MPM for the Slow Waltz in the picture.
- Tempo: The slider changes the speed in percent, 100% in the picture. Below it are the BPM that result from it.
The volume slider is independent of Loudness Normalization: the normalization evens out the songs against each other, the slider sets the overall level.
For how the tempo is measured and what MPM means, see Tempo, BPM and MPM.
